If you experience migraines, you know the severity of pain can leave you disabled for hours to days. Migraines can be rare to several times a month and vary from person to person. Untreated, migraines can last up to 72 hours. During a migraine, you may experience severe throbbing on one side of your brain or a pulsing sensation that can often be accompanied by nausea and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Triggered by many things, migraines are believed to begin in the brain and involve nerve pathways and chemicals. Researchers believe migraines may be genetic and occur more often in women than men.

There are four stages of migraines: prodrome, aura, headache, and postdrome. While you may only experience one or two of these you may cycle through all of stages in one migraine. Known as “preheadache”, prodrome can mark the beginning of a migraine attack. Lasting hours to even several days, you may experience fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, craving for certain foods and frequent urination. The aura being the least common, can last up to 60 minutes and cause vision disturbance as well as sensitivity to touch. Commonly beginning on one side of the then head and gradually moving to the other side, the headache stage can last for up to 3 days. Varying from person to person, the headache stage can cause nausea, inability to sleep, anxiety, sensitivity to sound, light and even smell. Occurring in most, the Postdrome or “migraine hangover,” as it’s known typically follows the headache stage. In this stage you may experience fatigue, body aches, trouble concentrating, dizziness and sensitivity to light. Avoiding triggers such as certain smells and bright lights is recommended.

Migraine Pain Management delivers a pronounced therapeutic effect to ease migraines quickly without all the toxic chemicals that are often offered in over the counter treatments.
