Instructions: Carbon has been pre-washed, however, a slight rinsing will remove any dust and particles caused by handling or shipping. Under normal conditions, Acurel Extreme Activated Carbon Pellets can perform efficiently for up to two months. Various aquarium conditions may dictate more frequent changes. Replacing 50% of the carbon on a monthly basis is recommended in order to maintain the aerobic bacterial culture in your filter.
