Soak feet in warm, soapy water to soften toenails. Cut toenails straight across, leaving the nail edges squared and even with the ends of toes, being careful not to cut nail shorter than tip of toe for maximum safety and comfort. Shake clippings out of open end of clipper. Cut in a number of small cuts rather than a large, single cut.
